LONGi Green Energy: Sustainable Brand Story: Green Tech Advances Sustainable Development Goals

As the goal of "Net- Zero" and sustainable development become increasing embraced, the building of sustainable brands has emerged as a critical component of corporate core competence. Its essence lies in deeply integrating ecological value creation into the value chain, achieving business value while balancing the diverse needs of society, the environment, and stakeholders. As a world- leading green energy company, under the mission of "To make the best of solar energy to build a green world" with a brand positioning of "The most trusted, reliable solar company that blazes the trail for green technology", LONGi is dedicated to delivering universally affordable and accessible clean energy solutions since 2000, integrating its strategy with the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, resolutely pursuing the path of sustainable development.

LONGi places"technology innovation"at the core of its sustainable brand practices, leveraging clean energy technology to bridge the dichotomy between development and conservation. It provides green solutions for the achievement of global sustainable development goals, offering decent and dignified living conditions for people in need, with sustainable goal of "Affordable for All".

"Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all" is SDG 6 of the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda. Africa is facing severe water scarcity that is worsening day by day. Data indicates that over 300 million Africans lack access to clean drinking water, while more than 700 million people suffer from inadequate sanitation facilities. Sub- Saharan Africa loses 5% of its GDP annually due to water scarcity, pollution, and poor sanitation, while extreme weather caused by climate change such as floods and extreme droughts will make it more challenging for people in the area.

In the village of Linga, the community faced the same challenge, especially for local primary clinic. To tackle the problem, LONGi teamed up with PV partner Senergia AB to support an important project in Mozambique that was initiated by Project Vita, an NGO focused on empowering people to improve their own lives. With a water tower in place, the LONGi team donated 0.86kW solar panels that were installed on the roof of the health clinic. The power from the panels is used to pump fresh water up the water tower. Faucets in the neonatal clinic can now provide clean, fresh water immediately upon use. This distributed power generation system, installed on the rooftop of this maternity clinic, converts the abundant solar energy resources of Southern Africa into green electricity that drives water pumps, providing the hospital with a precious source of clean water.

In Sub- Saharan Africa, the population without access to electricity reaches as high as 560 million, accounting for 77% of the global total. The daily lives of residents are severely impacted, particularly as children in the region are deprived of educational opportunities. In Malawi, 80% of schools lack access to electricity through the grid or other means, leading to a significant loss of learning opportunities for many primary and secondary school students. Data shows that Malawi has a total of 4 public universities, nearly 1,000 secondary schools, over 5,000 primary schools, 22,000 teachers, and 350,000 students. The illiteracy rate stands at 61.3%, with only 4.5% of primary school students advancing to secondary education.

To address the issue of electricity access for local children's education, LONGi has provided a container of solar panels to rural areas in Malawi, distributed to 12 destinations, including schools and villages, to help children in local primary schools and communities gain access to green electricity and safeguard their right to education.

Solar energy inherently possesses ESG attributes, which have been fully leveraged through LONGi's technological innovations, driving the low- carbon energy transition and expanding the innovative boundaries of sustainable application scenarios. As an implementer of China's "Dual Carbon" strategy and a bridge connecting global SDGs with local practices, LONGi has demonstrated that dedicated corporate commitment and systematic actions can effectively advance the realization of sustainable development goals. In the future, LONGi will continue to promote a just global energy transition through green technology innovation, contributing to worldwide sustainable development.
